Platform Features & Technology Overview

DDoS Protection

Continuous Scanning and Quick Reaction Time

DDoS attacks overwhelm networks with excessive, malicious traffic aiming to disrupt services. By integrating our in-house upstream DDoS protection, our system allows us to manage extremely high data throughput whilst detecting and mitigating these attacks before they penetrate our internal network. It ensures continuity, safeguarding both website and email operations from downtime or disruption.

Continuous scanning ensures vulnerabilities are detected in real-time, enabling swift action before threats escalate. This proactive approach minimises the risk of breaches or disruptions.

Reaction time is essential in mitigating DDoS attacks. As we are continually scanning the networks upstream, reaction time is significantly reduced. Once detected, immediate countermeasures are deployed preventing any attacks from affecting our network performance or user experience.

Immediate responses to issues prevent any prolonged strain on our network infrastructure ensuring network resources are used effectively and efficiently.

Security Feature

Implementing Strong Security Protocols

We implement a robust, multi-layered security strategy designed to address threats at multiple levels. From real-time scanning of uploaded content to the integration of advanced hardware defenses, our system ensures comprehensive protection and reliability across the entire platform.

Redundancy ensures failover capabilities, so even if one firewall encounters an issue, another can take over without compromising security. Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) actively monitor and filter out threats including zero-day vulnerabilities (those exploited before a fix is released).

This approach minimises any downtime and reinforces protection, shielding critical assets from emerging and highly sophisticated attacks.

A Web Application Firewall specifically defends web-based applications from common attack vectors such as SQL injection and cross-site scripting. Mod_security is an open-source WAF module designed for this purpose enhanced by frequent updates to its rulesets for adapting to new threats.

This reduces exposure to vulnerabilities and ensures application-level security, safeguarding sensitive data and preserving functionality for customers.

Scanning uploads (including nulled themes) as they occur prevents infected or malicious files from entering the platform. This can involve virus and malware databases via Immunify360 (included in all packages) for immediate detection. It mitigates risks by blocking threats before they spread within your caged environment.

Regular scans identify any compromised or infected files that might have been missed or introduced post-upload for example, a backdoor in a nulled theme or vulnerable plugin giving a malicious user admin permissions to upload whatever they want. Actionable feedback helps users address issues proactively.

Technology

Network & Datacentre

Our network connects to all the well-known Tier 1 providers giving more reliable internet access via private connections for ultra-fast content delivery. We operate with a commitment to sustainability, being powered entirely by renewable energy ensures that our operations contribute to reducing carbon emissions while maintaining high performance and reliability. The integration of renewable energy aligns with our commitment to combat climate change and positions our data centre as a leader in green technology. You can read more here →

The Netwise London East data centre (you can view the build blog here https://blog.netwise.co.uk/category/build-blog/) is designed for efficiency, achieving a world-leading Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) rating of 1.052. This means that for every watt of energy used to power IT equipment, only 0.05 watts are consumed for cooling, lighting and other non-IT functions. This exceptional efficiency is achieved through innovative evaporative cooling systems and refrigerant-free technology, significantly reducing energy consumption and water usage.

By running on renewable energy and achieving low PUE, our data centre minimises its carbon footprint, contributing to a sustainable future. Investing in renewable energy and advanced cooling systems ensures long-term sustainability and adaptability to evolving industry standards.

Reduced energy consumption translates to lower operational costs, making it both an environmentally and economically sound choice for both us as a business and you as a customer.
